Racing Horses are thoroughbreds, raised solely for racing. Cost of a thoroughbred horse can easily fetch hundreds of thousands of dollars.  You might now be wondering why such valuable horses require any project to save them in the first place. All I can say for now is that I have witnessed the life of these amazing animals and am shocked and sad to see how these magnificent creatures end up! when their racing days areo ver . As long as thoroughbred horses win races, their life is secure, but not without hardship. Race Horses have to earn their keep by winning races or are put to sleep. Hundreds of new! Thoroughbred horses are purchased every month, to replace old race horses which frequently lose races. Sooner or later, these newly purchased thoroughbred horses will start losing races and more thoroughbred horses would be purchased to replace them. The cycle goes on..... Every month, hundreds of thoroughbred horses, in the prime of their lives, are destroyed! because they failed to meet their purpose in life, which is winning races. These are fit and perfectly healthy horses! being killed just because they cannot win races. Horses which lose races and are put to death, are still in the prime of their lives (teenagers! when compared to human life). Below are photos of some ex-race horses, rescued from the butchers and given a new lease of life, by being retrained as riding horses, show horses and trail horses. All these horses are stabled in Johore (Malaysia), and used for riding or special events.
